Debt Recovery — Letter Before Action
Enter the facts of the unpaid debt. We check the time limit, the correct court and any late-payment interest, then draft the formal letter that precedes issuing proceedings.

Start gently and escalate only if you need to. You send each letter yourself; if it stays unpaid, here are your court options.
- 1
First reminder
€5A courteous nudge to prompt payment — often all it takes. A letter you download and send.

Still unpaid? Your court options
If it comes to it, the claim is yours to bring. These are the routes, for information:
- Small Claims (≤ €2,000) — a simplified District Court procedure with a small fixed fee; no solicitor needed. (S.I. 17/2014)
- District Court (≤ €15,000) / Circuit Court (€15,000–€75,000) — for larger debts; consider a solicitor for contested proceedings.
Steps 1–2 are documents you send yourself. Step 3 is your own court action — Brehon Legal is not a law firm, does not issue proceedings and does not act for you. Court fees are set by the Courts Service and can change; check the current fee at courts.ie.
